New Macbook

The MacBook is a brand of notebook computers created by Apple Inc. under Macintosh. The very first MacBook was introduced sometime in May 2006 where it took the place of the iBook and several other 12-inch notebooks that were one of the first of its kind.

The MacBook is one of Macintosh’s best selling computers to date. Since its debut to the public, new MacBooks have been circulated and even improved to the point where there have been three separate designs for the popular computer. The original MacBook used a polycarbonate casing similar to the iBook G4. By October 2008, a new MacBook design came out revealing a unibody aluminum casing that was similar to the MacBook Pro which came out during the same year. Compared to the Pro, however, the MacBook is smaller in size. A year or so later, the aluminum casing was gone and replaced with a unibody polycarbonate shell.

While there are various differences that can be found between the regular notebooks and the new MacBook, one of the most notable difference is the fact that the new MacBook trackpad makes use of a wide glass trackpad that has no clicker, unlike the other versions of notebooks where there is often a clicker and sometimes even a scroll area.

Gone are the days of bulky black notebooks because the new MacBook also paved the way for sleeker and thinner notebooks that looks like it was carved from a whole block of polycarbonate shell. The clean white color that the MacBook comes in also makes it appealing for those who prefer simple colors that look great without looking monotonous.

Aside from the overall appearance, the new MacBook also made a difference in the actual Operating System compared to regular notebooks. First off, the MacBook makes use of the Mac Operating System, unlike other notebooks that often come with the newest Microsoft Operating Systems. Although this can be changed or reformatted to fit the needs of the user, Macintosh would recommend that the pre-installed system be used as this has already been optimized to work well with the notebook’s hardware.

Using the new MacBook with the Mac OS, it can be seen that everything a user knows about the typical Microsoft systems may not work well on a MacBook. Shortcuts are often not the same, various pre-installed software may not necessarily work the same as the ones installed in other notebooks. However, you can be assured that the new MacBook and its pre-installed software has already been optimized at best, with all the important software that a person may need in a computer so much so that he or she may no longer need to add to the software installed in the computer.

Another difference that the new MacBook has against the regular notebooks is the fact that it is a lot pricier. For some people, the full package of the MacBook is reason enough for them to purchase the computer, but there are those who would pay top dollar for the design alone. But for those who are interested in the hardware specifications would say that the overall package of the new MacBook may be a good reason to shell out a lot of cash. Unfortunately, with the variety of notebooks being created every year, some people weigh practicality over a fancy package and opt to go with cheaper notebooks that only have a slight difference from the MacBook.

The software and operating system plus the hardware you can get in the new MacBook is actually a great value for the money especially when you compare it with most personal computer packages. Veteran computer users, however, may see the purchase of the MacBook as a vanity purchase, but that often differs from each person’s point of view.
